The shotgun cartridge key ring is my most popular product and one that I really enjoy making. I was inspired by when I was studying design at university and my background as a Gamekeeper's son. I use up-cycled, fired shotgun cartridges and leather to make this key ring.
The first part of the shotgun cartridge key ring is collecting the cartridges from local estates and clay pigeon shooting clubs. This is a valuable part of the up-cycling process.

The next part of the shotgun cartridge key ring journey is in the workshop. I use thick, smaller pieces of leather to make the key ring.
Handmade in Coldstream in my workshop
The key ring is made from the ends of two fired shotgun cartridges stuck together, wrapped in leather and riveted together. I wrap the cartridges in the leather which holds the cartridges nice and tight. The brass key ring and cartridge look great when the leather is dyed tan or dark brown. Each key ring is unique as each is hand dyed individually.
Below is a video of the making of the shotgun cartridge key ring. I made this earlier in the year.
